Built to make loan math plain to see

We built this Amortization Calculator because too many “free” loan tools bury the actual payment schedule behind a sign-up wall, an email gate, or a paywall. This one doesn’t. Type in your numbers, see your full amortization table, and download it — that’s the whole product.

Why we made this

Most people meet amortization for the first time when they’re shopping for a mortgage, a car, or a personal loan, and want a straight answer to a simple question: where does my money actually go each month? We wanted a calculator that answers that clearly — payment by payment — instead of showing just a single monthly number and hiding the rest behind a login.

So we built one tool that works as a mortgage amortization calculator, an auto loan calculator, a personal loan calculator, and a HELOC amortization calculator, all sharing the same underlying, transparent math, with a downloadable schedule at the end of it.

How it works

Enter a loan amount, interest rate, and term, and the calculator generates your monthly payment along with a full amortization schedule showing exactly how much of each payment goes to principal versus interest. Add an extra monthly payment or a balloon payment to see how they change your payoff date and total interest.

Every calculation happens locally, in your browser, using standard amortization formulas — nothing you enter is sent to a server, and the schedule is yours to export whenever you’re ready.

What we care about

A short list of the things that guide how this tool is built and kept up.

Free, no catch

No account, no email capture, no results locked behind a paywall.

Private by default

Your loan numbers stay in your browser tab — we never see them.

Transparent math

Standard amortization formulas, the same math a bank uses, shown in full.

Exportable results

Download the full schedule as a CSV any time — no strings attached.

Kept current

We revisit the tool and content periodically to keep it accurate and useful.

Built for everyone

Whether it’s a first mortgage or a small personal loan, the tool scales to fit.

A note on what this is (and isn’t)

This calculator is an educational and planning tool. It illustrates how a standard amortized loan behaves under the numbers you provide — it does not represent an offer of credit, a quote from any lender, or financial advice. Actual loan terms, fees, and payments from any lender may differ from what’s shown here. See our Disclaimer and Terms & Conditions pages for the full details.
